World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) 2021

World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is a global campaign to raise awareness and galvanise action on themes related to breastfeeding.

With an aim in mind to keep people informed about the positive effects of breastfeeding, the purpose of World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is to achieve a world where breastfeeding is a cultural norm, as it will significantly enhance the health, survival and wellbeing of infants, children and mothers.

In response to the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW), catch the first session of the live webinar series – “Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility” about Kangaroo Care and sustaining breastfeeding amid COVID-19 on Friday (6 August 2021) at 10:00 AM.

We are honoured to have Dr Foong Siew Cheng, our Associate Professor and Dr Foong Wai Cheng, our Senior Lecturer of the Paediatrics Department, leading this live conversation whilst spreading awareness about the importance of breastfeeding.

“Protecting Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility”
Idea Presentation Competition

In conjunction with the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW), RUMC Student Association have collaborated with RUMC’s Paediatrics Department to bring to you the “World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) Webinar” on Friday, 6th of August 2021 at 2pm.

In this webinar, Dr Foong Siew Cheng, our Associate Professor of the Paediatrics Department, will be sharing RUMC’s responsibility in providing support and protection of breastfeeding.

The webinar will be followed by an idea presentation competition themed “Protecting Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility”. Participations were required to share their ideas in a powerpoint slide based on the theme in less than 300 words. The winners will be announced during the prize giving ceremony of the webinar, after which they will present their ideas.
